CMSA Playdowns approaching

The 2015 CMSA Playdowns will be held the weekend of May 30/31st this year. For some teams the goal will be the right to attend districts (and provincials) and for others it will simply be bragging rights!

U14C: The Chaos and the Dynamite will be battling to gain the coveted host team position at the U14C Provincials to be held July 3-5, 15 here in Coquitlam. The loser will have the opportunity to attend Districts to hopefully also be able to represent Coquitlam at the Provincials!

U12C: The Thunder and the Red Divas will battle for supremacy. Both teams though will automatically be entered in the U12C Regional Championships in Richmond on June 19-21, 15

U10C: The Cobras and the Thunderbolts will clash to determine who reigns supreme.

The schedule is posted below. As always we will need volunteers to help with the concession and fields! Best of luck to all the teams!

The Coquitlam Red Diva’s went to Kamloops for a tourney May 9,10/15 and lost in the bronze medal game by one run vs Prince George.

For all players that went on this “road trip” this was their first experience of how much fun an out of town ball tourney can be.

On Saturday the girls played 3 games in extreme heat (over 30 C ). The final two games of the day both went to extra innings. “The girls played basically for over 5 1/2 hours straight in the heat, competed and wouldn’t give up”. I was so proud of them! coach Jason Smith stated.

Game MVP’s were – Ashley Smith, Sara Sutherland, Elise Poirier and Mikayla Windle.

Congratulations girls!

Coquitlam Celebration of Softball 2015

U-14B ClassicsU-16B 00

Thanks to everyone who came out over the weekend to support our Coquitlam Celebration of  Softball opening ceremonies and icebreaker event! The weather turned out not too bad and the sun even showed its face a few times! From the LTP/U8 Super skills to the opening ceremonies featuring speeches from Softball BC rep Jackie Duggar, Mayor Richard Stewart, and our keynote Jen McKellar to a rousing version of ‘O Canada’ from Councillor Terry O’Neill it was a great weekend. We are awaiting the final totals but it sounds like we raised over $3000.00 at the Drive 4UR Community event. So thanks to Metro Ford and Magnuson Ford and to all who participated!

Congratulations to the U12C Thunder for winning the banner contest!

Thanks to the teams from Poco, New Westminster, Burnaby, and Ridge Meadows who participated in the tournament and to all the volunteers who assisted with the concession, fields, raffles, skills, etc. We can’t do these events without you!!
