The Coquitlam Moody Softball Association is a volunteer driven non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for players 5 to 19 the opportunity to play organized fastpitch softball in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Funding to operate our program is provided through registration fees, sponsor funding, concession sales and provincial grants.
We provide uniform jerseys to all players, and all necessary equipment to teams, coaches, and umpires. All registered participants are insured through Softball BC's coverage. We have a very qualified group of senior and young umpires that officiate all scheduled, tournament, and playoff games, from U11 through U19C divisions. We are always looking for new umpires. Contact uic@coquitlamsoftball.com if you'd like to learn more!
Our player membership consists of over 300 players, comprised of mostly Coquitlam or Port Moody residents. Our Spring season starts the beginning of April and runs until mid July, including playoffs and post season championships. Our Rep team programs starts in September and runs until the end of July.
In our House Division we view fastpitch softball as a recreational sport played with friends. Our house league team development strategy allows teams to remain intact season after season. Players who specify a desire to return to play with their friends or coach will be allowed without question, to the greatest extent possible. In house league, during the regular season, every player can expect to play more than half of each game. In all divisions, our regular season is seen as the opportunity to develop skills. Our teams are competitive, but we do not use regular season standings to determine season outcome. This provides players at all skill levels the best opportunity to play and learn.
For players looking for a more competitive option we have our 'Coquitlam Classics' and 'Coquitlam Chaos' rep programs. This currently includes teams at the 'B' level. Our rep teams are formed in September and train indoors through the Fall into early Spring. They participate in a variety of tournaments in the Lower Mainland, around BC, and in the United States. Our rep program also includes our U11 Supermite program which offers accelerated development for our younger players!
