Parent Code of Conduct
It is the intent of this contract to outline the character, conduct, and overall respect of all parents/guardians of the Coquitlam Moddy Softball Association. All parents/guardians must read through and understand this contract stating that they understand all points and will abide by them. Main principles are to respect yourself, respect others, and respect the game:
- Respect the coaches and their decisions.
- Respect all opponents and officials.
- Treat all players and parents of this team with kindness and respect.
- No rude or inappropriate comments from the stands.
- No coaching from the sidelines.
- Do not bombard coaches with questions about playing time (overnight rule 24hr rule)
please wait until the next day and after you have spoken with your child, not immediately after the game). - If you must ask about playing time, please do it in a respectful and non-confrontational way.
- I will encourage my child to talk to coaches/manager about questions or concerns that relate to them.
- “TEAM FIRST” mindset.
- Growth mindset.
- Your children earn their playing time.
- Help ensure your child regularly attends all games, practices, and team events. If unable to do so, please communicate that to the coaches.
- Positively support your child and her teammates.
- The dugout is team space.
- Practices are closed.
- Be a good example for your children.
- Zero tolerance for bullying or violence (physical, verbal, cyber).
- Zero tolerance for alcohol at the park (Softball BC rules).
- Be supportive, be helpful, have fun.
- Remember, the coaches are human and volunteers, who just really love softball and your kids, and who are always doing what they think is best for the TEAM.
I agree to abide by these codes of conduct set by the Coquitlam Moody Softball Association. If I am unable to do so, it may result in suspension or removal from the team. If I ever have any questions or concerns, I will respectfully communicate them with the manager/coaches or executive
